Born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1961, Tricia Willemsen is the younger daughter of Bernard “Ben” Willemsen to whom this book is dedicated. During Ben’s illness, Tricia gave her dad a bear that she purchased in a gift shop in Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia. The story of Willis is loosely based on events that really happened. Now retired, Tricia lives in Central Ontario and enjoys travel, painting and playing music.
